Theresa Saia, relay team win SWC titles

The Masuk High girls team tied for fourth place and the boys team finished seventh at the South-West Conference Indoor Track Championships held at the Floyd Little Athletic Center in New Haven on Saturday.
Weston won the girls title, followed by New Milford, Newtown, Masuk and Immaculate of Danbury.
Theresa Saia captured the 55-meter dash title with a time of 7.28 and placed second in the 300-meter run in 42.54.
Megan Tynan, Ashley Rosso, Kasey Moraveck and Theresa Saia beat the field in the 4×200 relay with a time of 1:48.06.
Moraveck was third in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 9.60.
Tynan was fourth in the 300 (42.86).
Abbey Saia was fifth in the 55-meter dash (7.66) and sixth in the 300 (44.03).
Masuk was sixth (4:41.25) in the 4×400 relay.
Weston won the boys title, followed by New Fairfield, Bunnell of Stratford, New Milford and Brookfield.
The Panthers’ John Friedman was second in the 300-meter run with a time of 38.06.
Anthony Piscatelli placed third in the high jump (5-6).
Jake Duckworth finished fourth in the 3200-meter run with a time of 10:05.50 and was fifth in the 1,600-meter run in 4:33.62.
Scott Levins took fifth in the 55-meter hurdles in 8.90.Masuk’s 4×200 relay team was third with a time of 1:39.38.
The Panthers’ 4×800 relay placed sixth in 9:37.
