Monroe teachers indicate they will retire

Fifteen teachers in the Monroe public school system have indicated they plan to retire at the end of the school year.

Teachers are expected to present their retirement letters to the district by the end of a calendar year if they plan to retire at the end of the ongoing school year.

Jockey Hollow School will see the most retirements, with five teachers planning to step down. Masuk High School and Fawn Hollow will each see three teachers leave, while Stepney El will lose two teachers to retirement and Monroe El will have one teacher retirement.

According to Board of Education documents, teachers who will retire in June, at the end of the current 2012-13 school year, are:

—Barbara C. Florin, Fawn Hollow Elementary School

—Alice Gratchian, Jockey Hollow School

—Susan Kiraly, Monroe Elementary School

—Gail Drake Lukasik, Fawn Hollow

—Hope Maloney, Masuk

—Michael Mastronardi, Jockey Hollow

—Mary Ellen Pelley, Fawn Hollow

—Kathleen Robinson, Stepney Elementary School

—Charles Scalesse, Jockey Hollow

—Moira Petty Schiffer, Jockey Hollow

—Jerry Stevens, Jockey Hollow

—Leslie Wilker-Manfredonia, Stepney El

—Gail E. Young, multiple schools (English as a Second Language)
