Masuk pool February schedule:
Masuk swimming pool will be closed Feb. 18 and 27. Open swim is generally scheduled Monday to Thursday from 6-8 p.m. except for Feb. 12, 21 and 26, when it will be 6:30-8 p.m. Saturday open swim hours are 12:30-2 p.m. The schedule can change due to school closings or usage, so for updates go to monroerec.org and the cancellation line (203-339-6106).
Masuk pool memberships are sold at the pool during open swim times. Membership fees are as follows: Residents — adult $50 (age 18-59); child $40 (age 3-17); senior, free (age 60-plus). Nonresidents — adult $100; child $80; senior, free. Daily fees for nonmembers: Anyone age 3-59 — residents $5, nonresidents, $10. Payment for membership or daily fees by cash or check only.
Pool parties can be scheduled Friday from 6-7:30 p.m. or Saturday from 2-4 p.m. Fee is $150. Call 203-452-2806 to inquire about date availability.
Adult co-ed volleyball update:
Volleyball will start the first week of February and conclude May 8, for a 14-week session. It will take place in the Miracle Faith Outreach Church, 754 Main St. (Route 25), Monroe. A two-court setup, similar to the arrangement at Chalk Hill, is anticipated. Play is on Tuesday and Wednesday from 7:30-9:30 p.m. Tuesday nights is for advanced players while Wednesday nights is for others. Open to men and women age 18 and older and out of high school.
Parks & Rec also offers Parent and Child Aquatics, teaching basic water safety for parents and children ages 2-4; Pre-School Aquatics, in which children ages 4-5 learn about water safety, survival and foundational swimming concepts; Creative Illustrations (drawing and painting) for children in grades 1-5; and Yoga, for all genders, ages and abilities.
