Elizabeth ‘Bessie’ Jean Massaria Cervone

Elizabeth “Bessie” Jean Massaria Cervone, of Monroe, wife of the late Louis Cervone Sr. for 63 years, died Jan. 30, after a long illness.

Daughter of the late Michael and Josephine Massaria, she was born Aug. 31, 1922 in Bridgeport.

Survivors include six children, Josephine Doyle of Summerville, S.C., Louis Cervone Jr. and his wife, Joyce of Shelton, Michael Cervone and his wife, Doreen of Bakersfield, Calif., Rosalie Phillips and husband, Joseph of Fairmont, W.Va., Elizabeth Verruso of Manchester Center, Vt.; 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by two brothers, Vito and Paul; and her son, Leonard Cervone.

Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, handled arrangements. Burial in St. John Cemetery, Monroe.
