Police logs June 5 to June 11

The Monroe Police Department responded to 20 alarms and 27 medical emergencies between June 5 and June 11.

Monday, June 5

8:04 a.m. — Car accident reported on Route 25. Two cars were in a collision, no injuries reported.

3:08 p.m. — Animal complaint reported on Purdy Hill Road. Person said a snapping turtle was in the road.

Tuesday, June 6

6:27 a.m. — Arrest reported on Fan Hill Road. Police arrested 61-year-old Joyce Tigano after she turned herself in on a warrant. She was allegedly charged with violating her probation and held on a $25,000 bond.

8:57 — Car accident reported on Route 25. Two cars were in a collision and injuries were reported.

1:33  — Phone complaint reported on Senior Drive. Person said they received a call from someone claiming to be with the IRS.

1:34 — Telephone complaint reported on Bagburn Road. Person said they received a suspicious call from Eversource.

7:25 — Car accident reported on Knapp Street. One car went off the roadway and struck a rock, no injuries reported.

9:30 — Car accident reported on Route 25. A car struck a deer.

Wednesday, June 7

12:39 a.m. — Arrest reported on Route 111. Police arrested 38-year-old Adela Gomez for allegedly driving with a suspended license, driving without insurance and obscured license plates. She was released on a $1,500 bond. Police noted that there was a warrant for Gomez’s arrest, so she was also charged with allegedly failing to appear.

8:56 — Car accident reported on Moose Hill Road. A car struck a deer.

12:56 p.m. — Criminal arrest reported on Fan Hill Road. Police arrested 32-year-old Rasheim Lewis for allegedly disobeying an officer’s signal, criminal trover, larceny and failure to drive in the proper lane. He was held on a $20,000 bond.

1:00 — Criminal arrest reported on Fan Hill Road. Police arrested 35-year-old Joshua Syarto on a warrant. He was allegedly charged with larceny and held on a $500 bond.

1:52 — Telephone complaint reported on Highland Drive. Person said they received a suspicious call from an unknown state agency.

6:03 — Telephone complaint reported on Old Highway Drive. Person said they received harassing phone calls.

Thursday, June 8

11:24 a.m. — Telephone complaint reported on Field Rock Road. Person said they received a suspicious call from Eversource.

11:55 — Car accident reported on Elm Street. Two cars were in a collision, no injuries were reported.

2:30 p.m. — Larceny reported on Route 111. Police arrested 47-year-old Michelle Gonzalez for allegedly shoplifting batteries, toothpaste and detergent. She was allegedly charged with larceny.

4:41 — Car accident reported on Elm Street. Two cars were in a collision, no injuries reported.

8:42 — Burglary reported on Purdy Hill Road. Person said their back door was kicked in and items were taken from their home.

Friday, June 9

11:01 a.m. — Car accident reported on Hattertown Road. A car struck the guardrail, no injuries reported.

3:01 p.m. — Vandalism reported on Shawnee Lane. Person said someone damaged his landscaping.

4:29 — Car accident reported on Route 111. Two cars were in a collision in a parking lot. One car left the scene of the accident. The investigation is ongoing.

4:41 — Car accident reported on Route 111. Person reported a late car accident between two cars, no injuries were reported.

7:40 — Vandalism reported on Fan Hill Road. Person said the benches along the Chalk Hill Nature Trail were vandalized.

Saturday, June 10

3:02 a.m. — Car accident reported on Route 25. A car was rear ended and then the other car left the scene.

10:20 — Car accident reported on Purdy Hill Road. A car struck a deer.

2:01 p.m. — Fraud reported on Fan Hill Road. Person said their identity was stolen.

4:41 — Car accident on Route 34. Two cars were in a collision, no injuries reported.

Sunday, June 11

8:04 p.m. — Animal complaint reported on Greenwood Lane. Person said a woodchuck was stuck in the batting cage net.
