Due to snow, parking ban takes effect in Monroe at noon Friday

A parking ban will go into effect in Monroe from noon on Friday, Feb. 8, until snow removal efforts have been completed. Violators will be ticketed and towed, according to the Monroe Police Department.

This means people are not allowed to park vehicles on public roads.

Also, Town Hall offices closed at 10 a.m. today instead of the normal 1:30 p.m. on a Friday. First Selectman Stephen J. Vavrek said the decision was based on “the storm coming in ahead of its predicted noon start.”
