Monroe police log: April 30-May 6

The Monroe Police Department responded to 37 alarms, 22 medical emergencies, two 911 unknown calls, and one boating violation between April 30 and May 6.

Monday, April 30

9:10 a.m. — Police responded to a two-vehicle accident on Cutlers Farm Road. No injuries were reported.

10:28 a.m. — A Moose Hill Road resident reported observing a black bear in his back yard about 7 that morning. The report was referred to the animal control officer.

1:29 p.m. — A Wheeler Road resident reported observing a black bear between 6 and 6:15 a.m. that day. The report was referred to the animal control officer.

3:37 p.m. — A Quarry Ridge Road resident reported observing a black bear about 5:30 a.m. that day. The report was referred to the animal control officer.

3:45 p.m. — Police responded to a two-vehicle accident on Route 111. No injuries were reported.

Tuesday, May 1

4:18 p.m. — Police responded to a two-vehicle accident on Route 25. No injuries were reported.

5:18 p.m. — Police responded to a two-vehicle accident on Route 25. No injuries were reported.

Wednesday, May 2

2:47 p.m. — Police responded to a car accident at Masuk High School, off Route 111. No injuries were reported.

3:04 p.m. — Only minor injuries were reported, according to police, when a vehicle hit a guardrail on East Village Road and Webb Circle.

4:11 p.m. — Police responded to a two-vehicle accident on Route 25. No injuries were reported.

Thursday, May 3

1:21 p.m. — Police responded to a two-vehicle accident in the Village Square Shopping Center off Route 111. No injuries were reported.

Friday, May 4

4:44 a.m. — Police responded to a two-vehicle accident on Hattertown Road and Judd Road. No injuries were reported.

8:18 p.m. — Isabel Ruiz-Maldonado, 45, of Bridgeport, was arrested for driving under the influence, operating without a driver’s license and traveling unreasonably fast after a motor vehicle accident on Old Newtown Road. Police said Ruiz-Maldonado was driving too fast along the roadway, leaving Ruiz-Maldonado unable to stop in time for a truck that was backing into a driveway on the road. Maldonado posted a $500 bond and is scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court on May 14.

Saturday, May 5

1:54 a.m. — Zoe A. Dolan, 44, of Hamden, was arrested for driving under the influence and failure to drive in a proper lane after being stopped by officers on Route 111. Police said officers observed Dolan driving erratically, crossing over the double yellow lines several times and even striking a curb. After being stopped, Dolan failed a field sobriety test, said police. Dolan posted a $500 bond and is scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court on May 15.

Sunday, May 6

3:10 a.m. — Ashley Nicole Conklin, 23, of Shelton, was arrested for driving under the influence and failure to drive in a proper lane after officers responded to a report of a vehicle striking a utility pole on Walnut Street. Conklin posted a $500 bond and is scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court.

5:55 a.m. — Police responded to a report from a Pastors Walk resident, stating that he observed a damaged vehicle in his driveway, stuck on the rocks and unoccupied. No injuries were reported.
