Library lines: EWML offers food rest for students

The following programs are being held at the Edith Wheeler Memorial Library. Note that the library is now closed Sundays during the summer. The library is no longer open on Wednesdays due to budget cuts.

Finals Food!

Writing final papers and studying hard for exams? Come work at the library through June 19 (check out calendar for times). There is space for students to work quietly or come to the Rotary Room to hold a study group or hang out with friends and take a break. The library will provide snacks and drinks every day the library is open. Refreshments are for students only.

Art for adults

Kathy Vincent of ArtSmart! Studio presents “Art for Adults: Botanical Still Life — Succulents” on Monday, June 18, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Participants will work in their choice of watercolor or Water-soluble oil pastel for a series of succulent studies. Registration is required and is limited to 16 people. This program is funded by the Friends of the Edith Wheeler Memorial Library.

Calling all knitters, crocheters

The Knifty Knitters and Crafty Crocheters bi-monthly meet up will be Tuesday, June 26, from 6 to 8 p.m. Refreshments will be provided. Registration is required.

Writers set to gather

The next Adult Writers’ Workshop is Tuesday, June 19, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. All types of writers are welcome to attend this program. No registration is necessary.

Adults can get crafty

Adults can create their own custom trinket box on Monday, June 25, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Al supplies are provided. This program is paid for by the Friends of the Edith Wheeler Memorial Library.

Bollywood baby

Bollywood Dance for Adults will be Tuesday, June 26, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Bollywood dance is a healthy activity that promotes physical and mental well being. Bring a water bottle and wear comfortable active wear. The program is limited to 20 people. Devangi Dharani, owner of Tinkle Toes Dance Academy, will be the instructor.

Rock star button making

The library hosts a rock star button making program on Thursday, June 28, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Draw, trace or print up a design representing your favorite musician or musical group or create your own unique design. People will be shown how to use the library’s button making machine to make it pinnable. This program is for children in grades 6 to 12. Registration is required and limited to 15 people.

Time to get gross

Grossology, where children can make a variety of gross concoctions like slime, gak and oobleck, will be Thursday, July 5, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. This program is for students in grades 6 to 12. Registration is required and limited to 15.

Spa night for moms, teens

The Mother-Teen Daughter Spa Night will be Tuesday, July 10, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The library will be making homemade bath bombs, sugar scrub and lip balm to take home and enjoy. Come relax, chat with friends, manicure your nails and enjoy refreshments while enjoying some mother-daughter time. This is for students entering grades 7 to 12 with a parent or caregiver. Registration is required and limited to 24 people total.
