Monroe police log: June 29-July 5

The Monroe Police Department responded to 35 alarms, 25 medical emergencies, two boating violations and one unknown 911 calls between June 29 and July 5.

Friday, June 29

10:22 a.m. — Police responded to a motor vehicle accident on Judd Road. No injuries were reported.

3:02 p.m. — Police responded to a two-vehicle accident in the parking lot at McDonald’s on Route 111. No injuries were reported.

Saturday, June 30

10:41 a.m. — Police responded to an accident between a motorcycle and motor vehicle. No injuries were reported.

3 p.m. — A resident reported observing a black bear running in the woods behind homes on William Henry Drive. The incident was referred to the animal control officer.

5:05 p.m. — Erik Fiedler, 78, of Shelton, faces charges for allegedly scratching an antique show vehicle while it was parked at Bill’s Drive-In, 431 Monroe Turnpike. The complainant stated an individual, later identified as Fielder, scratched a classic car owned by the complainant. Police said witnesses and the vehicle’s owner identified Fielder as the person that vandalized the vehicle. Fielder was arrested at his home in Shelton a short time later and charged with first-degree criminal mischief. He was released on a promise to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court on July 10.

Sunday, July 1

9:16 p.m. — Police responded to a two-vehicle accident on Route 25. Minor injuries were reported.

Monday, July 2

6:31 p.m. — A Maryanne Drive resident reported that her vehicle was entered sometime overnight. Police are investigating the incident.

Tuesday, July 3

5:40 a.m. — A Sheep Meadow Drive resident reported that her vehicles were broken into sometime overnight. The owner reported that a tool kit was stolen. Police are investigating the incident.

9:55 a.m. — An Edgewood Road resident reported that someone entered her vehicle sometime overnight, and several items were stolen. Police are investigating the incident.

10:26 a.m. — Police responded to reports of larceny from unlocked motor vehicles in the area. The incidents remain under investigation.

1:55 p.m,. — Police responded to a report of a large box truck striking the corner of the roof in the rear parking lot of the U.S. Post Office building on Route 111. No injuries were reported.

5:46 p.m. — Police received a report from a Woodlawn Road resident that her vehicle was broken into sometime overnight and items were taken. The incident remains under investigation.

Thursday, July 5

3:11 p.m. — Police responded to a two-vehicle accident on Hattertown Road. No injuries were reported.

7:57 p.m. — A resident reported observing a black bear in the area of Guinea Road and Hattertown Road. The incident was referred to the animal control officer.
