Course to teach how to stop the bleed

Learn to Stop the Bleed and save a life during a special program sponsored by the Monroe Volunteer Emergency Medical Service and Edith Wheeler Memorial Library.

The library will play host to the courses, which will run Monday, July 30, Tuesday, Aug. 28, and Monday, Oct. 1. Each course begins at 7 p.m. and is designed to teach residents how to stop bleeding after an injury. The course will cover several basic bleeding control techniques, the use of tourniquets, and other information essential to saving the life of a person suffering from a significant injury resulting in severe bleeding. Classes take about two hours.
