Library lines: Blood, Sweat & Tears founder to talk about his new book

The following programs are being held at the Edith Wheeler Memorial Library. The library hours are Monday and Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Wednesdays, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Friday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The library will remain closed on Sundays during the summer, reopening on Sundays in the fall.

Blood, Sweat & Tears at EWML

Steve Katz, founding member of the band Blood, Sweat & Tears, will discuss his new memoir on Tuesday, July 17, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Edith Wheeler Memorial Library.

Katz will also be performing familiar songs sun in coffee house style. He will interlace his performance with the story of his career. Book copies will be available for sale and signing. Registration is required. For more information, call 203-452-2852 or visit ewml.org

Career Wednesdays returns

The Career Wednesdays Workshop Series — focusing on cover letters and references — will be Wednesday, July 18, at 10 a.m. Goodwill Career Center coach Yarelis Canales will be the instructor for this one-hour program. Registration is required.

Adult Writers’ Workshop

The monthly Adult Writers’ Workshop is Tuesday, July 17, from 6:30 to p.m. All types of writers are welcome. No registration is necessary.

Teens dinner & a movie

Back To The Future and some pizza ion tap for the Teens: Dinner & A Movie night on Friday, July 20, at 6 p.m. The library will be closed, so enter on the lower level. The event is for teens entering seventh to 12th grade. Registration is required and limited to 20 people.

Business Night Out set

A program titled 5 Stages of Business: Focusing on the Right Things at the Right Time will be held Tuesday, July 24, from 6:30 to 7:30. Doors open at 6 p.m., and those attending will learn to tap into their inner leader; gain confidence in all areas of their business; and realize business opportunities. Pizza will be served, and there will be opportunities for networking before and after the workshop. Registration is required.

Waffle time

Waffle It will be Thursday, July 26, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Come to the library and test various foods in the waffle makers. The event is for students entering grades 8 to 12. Registration is required and limited to 15 people.
