Monroe police log: Sept. 24-30

The Monroe Police Department responded to 30 alarms, 36 medical emergencies and one unknown 911 call between Sept. 24 and 30.

Monday, Sept. 24

9:28 a.m. — Police are investigating a reported theft of work materials from a Garder Road property. The owner told police that someone broke into workboxes on the site sometime over the weekend and stole a welder, among other items.

Tuesday, Sept. 25

3:17 p.m. — Police responded to a two-vehicle accident on Purdy Hill Road and Cutlers Farm Road. No injuries were reported.

4:06 p.m. — Police responded to a three-vehicle accident on Elm Street. No injuries were reported.

6:55 p.m. — Police are investigating the reported theft of a generator from a Wild Horse Court home.

9:01 p.m. — Police responded to a report of a vehicle striking a mailbox and a stone wall on Pepper Street. No injuries were reported.

Wednesday, Sept. 26

2:55 p.m. — Police are investigating the reported theft of several items from a Cross Hill Road home. The owner reported that several items had been stolen but was unable to give an exact time frame as to when the items were taken.

Thursday, Sept. 27

8:23 a.m. — Police responded to a two-vehicle accident on Route 25. No injuries were reported.

3:05 p.m. — Police are investigating the report of two individuals shoplifting cosmetics from the Rite Aid on Route 25.

5:41 p.m. — Jennifer Nascimento, 52, of Holly Place, turned herself in to Monroe police on charges of disorderly conduct and third-degree assault. Police said the arrest stemmed from a domestic incident that turned physical between Nascimento and her husband. She posted a $1,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court on Sept. 28.

Friday, Sept. 28

2:36 p.m. — Police responded to a report of a vehicle striking a dog on Old Newtown Road. The dog was transported to Shoreline Animal Hospital to be treated. The driver was not reported injured.

Saturday, Sept. 29

12:42 a.m. — Joseph Marseglia, 60, of Shelton, was charged with driving under the influence and failure to drive in a proper lane after being observed driving erratically on Route 111. Police said Marseglia was later stopped on Purdy Hill Road. He posted a $500 bond and is scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court on Oct. 9.

10:27 a.m. — Police responded to an accident in a parking lot off Route 25. According to police, a vehicle struck a light post in the parking lot. No injuries were reported.

Sunday, Sept. 30

5:29 p.m. — Raymond Anthony Pizarro, Jr., 23, of Cutlers Farm Road, was charged with violating a protective order, according to police, for texting his girlfriend. He posted a $50,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court on Oct. 3.
